THE END OF PILGRIM WAY

In the land of theblest far away,

What a kingdomprecious there o’er the glassy sea,

Where the nighthas turned to endless day.

          “Peace within all thy gates” rings allday,

There the streetsare all of gold, purged from all  alloy,

2.    In the Father’sbosom there, free from fear and care,

Wafts the rest ofGod in fragrant air.

 

3.    Like the manywaters sound, is their voice replete,

Though of manynations, yet but one.

 

4.    See the saintsexalted there, Father heard their groans,

           Who to holy Zion can draw nigh?

 

5.    Tree of life withchanging fruit, every month it’s rare,

Living streamfrom His throne, crystal clear,

There my home andresting place, as His Bride to share,

Do, O longexpected Christ, appear.
